The Carlton W.H. Erickson Award, honoring a library media specialist who has made an auspicious beginning in library media services through dedication to the profession, was awarded to
Annea Rosenberg
Library Media Specialist at Scofield Magnet
Middle School in Stamford, CT.
After
thirty-two years as a classroom
teacher, Annea recreated herself as a library media specialist who
immediately embraced new technologies, creating videos; receiving a grant
from the
CT State Education Cooperative for technology training in web design,
blogging and CAD
for teachers; and initiating a series of video conferences for 7th
grade geography teachers and students.
Then
Principal George Giberti noted
that “Because of
Annea’s vast experience in teaching, she has been able to design
and teach a variety of lessons and has encouraged teachers to design
interdisciplinary units which incorporate technology.”
