Mrs. Sandra Carlton - Interim Principal
Sandra Carlton is a 28-year veteran of Stamford Public Schools, where she began her career as a second and third grade teacher at Hart Magnet Elementary School. Following Hart, she was facilitator of the Extraordinary Learner Program, a Grade 3 teacher at Northeast, an Instructional Support Teacher (IST) at Newfield, and the Primary Years Program (PYP) Facilitator at Strawberry Hill. She was the Administrative Intern at Strawberry Hill from 2017 to 2019 and the Assistant Principal there from 2019 to 2024, when she was named Assistant Principal at Scofield. Carlton earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Connecticut as well as a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Bridgeport. She is certified in K-6 Elementary Education (CT 013) and Intermediate Administration and Supervision (CT 092). Carlton was a Stamford Public Education Foundation Excellence in Education recipient in 2018 and was named Stamford Teacher of the Year in 2008.
